Learning Objectives

  • Understand general and key financial terminology and principles.
  • Learn how to use financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement) to gain insights into a company’s performance.
  • Understand and apply financial assessments like NPV and ROI to analyze and compare project performance, considering the impact of including or excluding the discount rate.
  • Identify key parameters that can impact a company’s revenue and understand how CPC projects can affect these parameters.
  • Identify key parameters that can impact a company’s costs and understand how CPC projects can affect these parameters.
  • Understand typical cost breakdowns and their variations, and know the differences between variable, fixed, direct, and indirect costs.
  • Understand the theory behind economies and dis-economies of scale to calculate the financial impact of economies of scale due to product design changes.
