Energy and renewables
The sector is facing a giant transformation. Discover how system and process architectures can help developers and manufacturers achieving the necessary scale.
Scaling renewables
Within the renewable energy sector, offshore wind has taken a leading position. But with rising demands come stronger competition from an influx of new players. At the same time, government subsidies are vanishing, and this cocktail puts significant pressure on business cases.
The need for rapid technology development is another effect as the industry moves from HVAC to HVDC, to larger turbine capacities, increased topsides weights, and new installation concepts are all reflecting quantum leaps of innovation.
For most developers and manufacturers, meeting the demands for new technology still largely happens with an engineering-to-order approach. But it’s challenging to scale in a market that solely focuses on LCoE and time to first power.
At CPC, we have nearly a decade worth of experiences in overcoming these challenges. Together with leading companies in this field, we have co-developed new installation concepts, decreased installation schedules by 50%, increased accuracy in planning by 50%, significantly reduced the engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning duration – and done this with 30% fewer resources.
We did it by creating process and system architectures with standardized interfaces that help the sector harvest significant benefits from re-thinking their development and operations in a modular perspective.
